3rd Annual Duck Race on the Wabash

$1000 Grand Prize Planned for 3rd Annual Duck Race on the Wabash

Twenty-five other prizes valued at $150 or more!

The FCS Board and staff are making plans for the 3rd Annual “Duck Race on the Wabash” to be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Kehoe Park in Bluffton. As a nonprofit social service agency, local fundraising is crucial to our ability to provide life-saving and life-changing services to children and families in our communities. Our goal is to realize at least $20,000 in profit to assist us in sustaining our programs in Wells and Huntington Counties.

The event includes free children’s games, live music and refreshments from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. with the ducks plunging off the bridge into the Wabash at 2:00 p.m.. The ducks will “swim” down the river, racing to the finish line where our valiant volunteers from the Wells County Fire Department will be waiting to pluck them out of the water as they come through the chute. The first 25 ducks plucked will guarantee their sponsors one of the prize packages made up of great products and gift certificates from Wells and Huntington County merchants.

To volunteer, be a sponsor or to purchase ducks please contact Brenda Taylor, Family Centered Services’ Development Director, at 260-824-8574 or at brendat@parlorcity.com.
